The Disclaimer is sort of directed towards my self. Just to remind me that there is seldom one single solution to a complex problem.
Regarding the output stage:
I had some electronics classes 20 years ago. Most of the knowledge has evaporated since then.
I used 12v and 100 ohms just to maximize the effect. Even though I don't have much of a clue about what is really happening when zapping. I assumed high current and voltage = better effect on the body!
After reading the page you recommended, I understand that maybe this isn't so.
You mention a push-pull stage, isn't this used when the voltage goes below zero as in an audio amplifier?
Analog circuits is certainly not my strong side.
I would appreciate some concrete examples.

One last thing. Would 9v be just as good as 12v?
