1st Pregnancy
I just found out that I am pregnant with my first child. I have been into the alternative lifestyle (herbs, essential oils, energy work, foot zoning, etc) for quite some time and have a pretty good idea about health, however I have a couple of questions that I am not sure about.
1. Prior to becoming pregnant, I had started to eat mostly raw and was losing weight. Now that I'm pregnant, I would like to continue with the diet, but am not sure what is a healthy amount of weight to lose. I started out at 160 lbs, 5'6". I am currently at 145. I want to make sure that if I do continue to lose weight it will not affect the baby. The majority of my diet consists of greens and fruits, with some nuts thrown in each day. I should also mention that I am following the program outlined in Dr. Mom's Healthy Living, except for the organa minerals since they haven't come in yet.
2. I would like to have a homebirth with a midwife and was wondering if you had any suggestions about who to go through. I live in Salt Lake County and would love to have someone that has similar nutritional and herbal beliefs that I have. Any suggestions would be welcomed.
