Strange fasting experience
Hello all,
I was undertaking a 5 day juice fast. I made it two days into the fast, and on the morning of the third day, I awoke to being unable to get out of the bed. My heart was racing, I felt nauseous, short of breath and cold. I was unable to get up to make a juice, barely able to get up to use the restroom. This is very strange for me because I am not completely inexperienced with fasting (though I am not a pro), and I am a rather healthy, ideal weight, twenty-something.
My dear husband said to me, "Honey, if you are unable to get up to make your juice to get you out of this jam, it is probably time to eat." And I begrudgingly agreed.
I had 3 (8 oz) juices on my first day (1 carrot, 2 green juices), and 2 juices on my second day (1 carrot 1 green). Into the second day, the idea of the juice, made me so nauseous I couldn't bear to make more. It was to the point where I didn't want to swallow anything, even water was a chore. That carried on into the morning where it took me a bit of effort to get down water and nearly an hour to get down the yogurt my dear husband brought me (I know dairy is not ideal, but its creamy texture and no chewing was the only thing my system would accept). My system handled that well and later on I was feeling well enough to be able to move again.
I have fasted on green juices before and found the experience to be *almost* enjoyable, and certainly never felt anything as extreme as I felt this morning. Now I am extremely disappointed because I am certain that I was detoxing strongly (I even had a little breakout of acne). I have to be able to function normally right now, and I am traveling shortly so another fast right away is not an option.
I am wondering if a
Liver Flush would be good to do now. A couple of weeks ago I had a little bit too much "fun" (drinking more than ideal) out of town , I think that had something to do with my strong detox.
Sorry so long winded. My question is basically should I do a
Liver Flush now, before I travel in a couple of days, or should I give my system a little breather and start the flush when I return?
