If you expand the name you get N-ethyl-L-glutamine.
After a bit of dowsing its purpose is to remove ethyl as in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetra-ethyl_lead
in particular bound to the Lead(II) chloride http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lead(II)_chloride


Frq to break this bond just added to doctrin,
also a good cup of green tea will do..
