Alternative osteoporosis treatment
Our bones are in a constant state of breaking down and then remodelling. When we are young our bone builders (osteoblasts) work faster than our bone resorbers (osteoclasts) which allow us to grow and make strong bones. As we age, our bone resorbers can work faster than our bone builders which may lead to a loss of bone density. Our bones can also adapt to body changes such as weight gain. The extra weight triggers the bone to build denser bones in order to accomodate the extra weight. This is why weight training exercises are of importance for osteoporosis sufferers. Conversely, lack of activity such as extended lengths of time in a hospital bed can lead to less bone building and weaker bones.
Current osteoporosis medications stop the natural process of breaking down and remodelling of bone. This means that you keep the same old bone. Sherry Rogers, MD, author of "Detoxify or Die", speculates whether the absence of normal bone turnover will lead to an increase in the storage of cancer causing cadmium and other heavy metals in the bone. Studies are already showing increased risks of certain types of cancers with these drugs.
Osteoporosis is reaching epidemic proportions and is expected to increase in the future due to such a large aging population. For this reason, everyone should be aware of an effective, non-invasive, non-toxic, side-effect free alternative treatment.
This treatment is the use of pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMFs).
Interestingly, the use of PEMFs became FDA approved in the 70's for the sole purpose of healing non-union fractures. Dr. C.A.L. Bassett from Columbia Presbyterian Medical College, one of the early researchers of PEMFs, achieved an 80% success rate with over 6000 surgeons country-wide, and without side effects. Much research confirms the beneficial effects of PEMFs on bone healing and bone health.
Additionally, PEMFs have been utilized by space travelers engaging in long-term space missions to counter-act calcium depletion in astronauts bones due to being in a weightless state.
PEMF therapy is commonly used by European doctors to treat a wide range of conditions including osteoporosis, arthritis, pain, circulation problems, and many other conditions. Products are now commercially available for your home.
One of the attractive features of PEMF therapy is that it has numerous beneficial effects on the body which make a useable therapy for the whole family. These effects include:
-increase oxygen in the blood
-stimulate metabolism
-regenerate cells
-strengthen the immune system
-improve vitamin and mineral absorption
-assists detoxification
-increase bone density
-helps to relax the nervous system.
In her book, "Detoxify or Die," Sherry Rogers, MD suggests that "It is imperative that folks know about this safe, natural, effective cure. For we have no other medical cure for osteoporosis."
