Doesn't bode well, bless his heart. (And theirs--for certain they feel lost.)But he has you, your energy, and you are capable of seeing a much bigger picture, so it becomes your responsibility to forgive the insanity, and support the good as much as possible. The microwave/plastic issue is an indication of how far the parents are from being able to see with their own eyes.(I am currently concerned about my mother entering into the system, and maybe not coming out well, at the other end. People get to desperate places. Some fast, some slower.) So, I wish the whole family well--and may wisdom ripen, soon!!! :-) The spiritual component of thyroid issues is said to be something like the distortion (in thought and emotion) of "when is it going to be MY turn/time"? which seems to -sadly- fit this situation>> Just a gut feeling;it sounds as though the boy is oddly invisible, amidst all the flurry of his sickness and the medical machine grinding away. Hard to watch. Hard to be "right", when really, you'd want most to be truly, simply facilitating, participating in some kind of sanity and demonstration of standing up for what's right- on the parents' part, and you really can't. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Best you can do is love, lay down all the frustration and wish to sock someone (I hear you) -and try to avoid being the unpopular one who does not "support" the path the parents have taken. Been there.
