One way to shut them up is ask if they use calcium fluoride or sodium fluoride in their treatments. Calcium fluoride is the only kind that may even remotely be helpful to teeth, but that's not the kind they put in toothpaste. If they bother to look and it's 'sodium fluoride', ask them if they know that's the active ingredient in some rat poisons...
