The tongue thing varies trememdously from one individual to another. In your case also when going through a healing crisis the system will focus it's energy dealing with the particular issue and not necesarily on overall cleansing. In any case don't expect much from a 10 day cleanse as that is the minimum. It takes the system 3 to 4 days just to empty itself and another 3 or 4 to adapt to fasting so at 10 dyas you are just barely scratching the surface of any issues you are wanting to address.
