Re: Dizzy
Have you gone to see a dr. regarding this? I had this last week for 2 days. It was really bad when I woke up and saw things spinning--like the spinning you see on a slot machine...and I don't even drink. I wished I could have used that as the reason why I felt so dizzy. I vomited 4 times the first day...the dizziness was so bad. I took Excederine Migraine; that did help me some. It made things a bit more bearable. I also treated it like a migraine. I'm not sure if this was brought on by the Mirena or not. I've had migraines in the past, but never with such bad vertigo. The second day, I woke up with the same spinning; I immediately took Excerine Migraine...again this helped. Both days, I snacked on crackers and sipped on Gatorade. I took it easy both days--luckily, this all happened over Spring Break. For me, it was difficult to even close my eyes because I couldn't stop the dizziness. My last alternative before going to the physician was to take Dramamine---not with the Excederine though--to see if this would also help. I didn't have to take the Dramamine because I was better by the third day. I woke up feeling fairly okay--with the exception of the side effects that I get from the Mirena almost on a daily basis--well at least for 10 to 14 days out of the month-- but heart palps everyday!!! I know the extra caffeine in the Excederine didn't help the heart palps, but I couldn't take the dizziness. At the time of vetigo, the heart palps were the lesser of the 2 evils. Feeling dizzy and/or car sick is definitely a weakness for me...I can't deal with that feeling.
I am not telling you to do what I did--you know your body and what you can tolerate. This is just what I did and it helped me. You may want to check your BP and make sure you are drinking enough water...and even check with your GP if possible. I hope you are feeling better soon. Hang in there---you are not alone!
