I went through something like that.  On an ER visit, they decided my mother needed blood pressure medication.  Back then, I thought doctors knew best.... duh.  Well, even though I thought her blood pressure was okay, I didn't say anything, because I was under the impression that doctors knew what they were doing.  Well, the first pill I gave her caused a stroke.  That was the beginning of my realizing that they have no clue.
