Re: aloe vera (Make sure you read this thru to the end, some important info)
Hey, was bored today and decided to read the forums and found this :) Actually when I used to use Lily of the desert Aloe vera it was a different formula than the one they make today. The new stuff is horrible and dries up too quickly and doesn’t work. I tried a few other brands but couldn’t find an aloe vera that worked as well as the old Lily of the desert formula. The other brands worked ok, but left my lips kinda red, with dry hard skin still on them.
Anyway that was old news and I don’t use aloe vera anymore because I don’t have to :) I did have EC as bad as anyone here with 'cornflakes' so to speak, coming off my lips.
Actually even when I was using the old aloe brand, my lips were terrible compared to how my lips are today. They were still red, kinda raw and dry feeling.
Today I applied Burt’s bees lip balm a total of 2 times and wet my lips with my tongue whenever they were dry. My lips are pink(not red), very little peeling(sometimes a few little pieces, I have minor dry flaky skin around my mouth and nose anyway so this amount of peeling seems normal for me), soft to the touch and they look normal!! :)) What else could I ask for!
I was thinking about it today and it all kinda makes sense, I am so into the routine now of keeping my lips hydrated that it is not a chore at all, in fact it seems totally normal. When my lips feel dry wet them, when they keep feeling dry wet them then apply some balm :)
Good Luck!
