Getting off antidepressants-withdrawl/restore support
I posted this in the "Ask Dr. Sutter" forum and have not received any response, so I thought I would post in a few others. I am new at posting. A bit disappointed as I have been reading curezone for several years for alternative solutions and was hoping to get some support through this very challenging time. I am now on about day 5 of weaning off of Pristique. I have been taking one every other day. First day the hardest. Today is tough. I am determined. I just want to make sure that I am giving my body what it needs so that it is easier and to restore to keep me from going back because of severe panic attacks. I know there is a way besides these awful pharmaceuticals. My doc says you need seratonin. After doing some reading, I know there it is a deficiency somewhere and there are wonderful alternative (adaptogenic) paths to healing. Please help.
Hello!
I am have been on curezone for several years reading the posts and learning about the cleanses, etc.
Although consider me a newby.
I have been on probably every antidepressant there is. I go to a physchopharmacologist and am involved in once a week counseling. I am at the point to where I want to get off antidepressants. The timing is important. I am out of work at the moment and the stressors are up. But the side affects of the drugs are surmountable. I suffer from adrenal fatigue and hypoglycemia. I am also suffering from tremors. I believe this is all due to the drugs along with extreme stress I have been under from working an intense job, going to school and single parent. I crashed a year ago. Recently I have been having trouble sleeping having waking with jerking movements in different parts of my body. A sleep study has been suggested and is in the works. I am more and more convinced that psych drugs do not belong in the mix and it is a downward spiral, moving from one drug to the next. I have had blood work done, apparently my thyroid is ok. I was low on zinc, copper, coq10 and antioxidants. I just recently stared taking copper, zinc, a product with coq10 and antioxidants, himalya liver support, himalay alma c, and bee pollen, along with a food based nutritional supplement and fiber/herb supplement. I am focused on eating more complexx carbs and protein. From reading up on getting off of antidepressants here on curezone, I am getting bits and pieces. For one Pioneer1 suggested the Pain Stress Center. I would like to know more about this and how it has helped you. Also any other suggestions is helpful and the order in which they need to be done, if any. ie liver cleanse, supplements suggested and support. I just did 10 days on
Clarkia parasite tincture. Plan on completing a 5 week program. I have a zapper I use at night. I have weaned myself off of drugs about 2 years ago, along with doing the lemonade cleanse and about 6 months later was suffering from panic attacks and back on the drugs. Exercise is very important to me and I work on getting at least 3 sessions in a week. I have glimpses of freedom and what it feels like to be normal and would like to have this always. I feel drugged, dizzy and the side affects stated above. I am currently on Pristique which is similar to effexor yet is not metabolized through the liver. I am on the smallest milligrams 50mg and it can not be halved. I am thinking of going down to every other day. I went off for a day and boy backlash city. Emotional, shaking, dizzy the normal withdrawl. I am a determined person and feel like I failed before getting off the meds, because of lack of education and what my body needed to get through and restore. I am sooooo tired of all this. I have been off and on drugs for the past 17 years!!! My liver must be suffering. I so long for a healthy happy fulfilled life drug free.
Any help, suggestions, support is very much appreciated!
I also welcome any questions.
Sincerely
