If you taken digestive enzymes on an empty stomach, such as an hour before breakfast, or well in-between meals, they will go into the blood stream and deal with non-body proteins, viruses, etc. that are in the blood. It is my understanding that the protease can even eat the protective protein coating that surrounds cancer cells, which permits you white blood cells to then successfully attack the cancer cells.
