Re: More Truth - let's get down to it! :) Re: Comfrey, FDA Ban July 9, 2001, Dr. Christopher's Herbal Legacy preliminary injunction barring them from marketing products containing comfrey for internal use.
So Uny, does this mean I may safely run the occasional Comfrey leaves through my new Omega VRT juicer that will be arriving in a few days? The Comfrey leaves aren't out yet, but it won't be long, and I'd really love to slide a few in with the rest of the veggies when they do emerge.
Wow! That blurb by the FDA sure
sounds scary if you neglect to think it through, or if you've watched "Televitz" enough to have attained the to-be-died-for and much-sought-after Three Second Attention Span™.
And I suppose that if you gave that FDA text to 100 people and asked them what it meant, 95 would tell you, "it means comfrey will kill you."
But isn't that less an evidence that ingesting this vegetable (Comfrey) is harmful and more an evidence that exposure to a government school and controlled media will "VEGETIZE" your mind?
Proof that America's chief national product is the. . . Room Temperature IQ™: "Oh, look, Agnes. The FDA says this stuff doesn't work!" (What the label actually says is that the FDA has not evaluated claims or has no evidence regarding this herb).
Funny stuff aside, I am very interested in adding Comfrey leaves to my juice, and other herbs as well, like Plantain, Self Heal (Prunella vulgaris) and others. What do you think?
