Re: For Anne_33 (re: Update) + "you, me, & helping others" (edit)
Hello Anne,
I have had the opportunity to chat with several urologists about kidney stones. They seem to agree that some people are more prone to them than others, but don't fully understand why they form.
However, they all agree that if a person is prone to kidney stones, the best way to keep them from forming is to maintain proper hydration. People who drink lots of water each day, even if they are prone to
kidney stone formation, tend to not form kidney stones... at least not as often, and if they form they are washed out while they are quite small avoiding the discomfort of passing them.
Keep in mind that the problem with drinking lots of water is maintaining a proper electrolyte balance. There are several ways to maintain electrolyte balance and the key to proper hydration is to address this issue.
Good luck and the best of health to all.
Tom
