Iodination of T3 from Lugols/Iodoral?

The Vitamin K Yahoo Group, in the files section under protocol with Iodine, recommends an SSKI formula only without any Iodine - see quote.

"Do not use Lugol’s Solution or Iodoral tablets – the elemental Iodine in these products will iodinate T3, turning it back into T4."

I know that T3 is the active from of thyroid hormone and is converted from T4.
