Re: Tailbone pain caused by Mirena?

Oh, you can't imagine how relieved I am to finally find someone who has experienced this as well! Thankyou SO much for replying!

I have been researching this for the past 5 months, and until now, have just kept coming up against a brick wall. I had my Mirena removed 5 weeks ago, even though my doctor was very against my doing so, and suggested that if the pain did improve it would be mind over matter. So far, the pain HASN'T improved - in fact, it has gotten worse... plus the flooding that the Mirena had kept in check has returned. So, it is taking a lot of determination to hold fast to my belief that it was the Mirena that was causing my tailbone pain. Like you, I have had to give up Church, as well as any sort of social life (going to dinner or the movies, or for drives), as everything involves sitting. I manage to continue working only by using a donut cushion, which gives some relief.

You mentioned that your pain only just went away last year... how long had you had your Mirena out before the pain went away? I'm desperate to know how much long I can expect to have to live with this pain.
