Re: Iodine Loading Test

I agree with Trapper, but I thought I would add a few thoughts:

if you get a 90% excretion or in that neighborhood and you haven't been supplementing iodine, you can pretty much count on that you have a transport problem because it is very unlikey that your tissues would be saturated with Iodine. This doesn't necessarily change the protocol but it strengthens the need for the support nutrients because they will help heal the transport problem.

Also, you can request a bromide level in the test. Again, good to know because then you know you might have some symptoms detoxing the bromide. It can take a long time to get the bromide out

Hakala Labs also has a test now where they look at serum and saliva after ingesting 50mg Iodoral to check for transport problems. Again if knowing helps you keep focused

I just had this latter test done 3 weeks ago. My transport is ok but my bromide was high. So for me it helps me stay focused knowing I have bromide toxicity and I need to stick with it and ride it out.
