Re: Has anyone developed thyroid problems post mirena?

Hi Ladies. FYI I developed Thyroid issues while on mirena. Had no thyroid function for 20 yrs. Had it destroyed by radiation, but hmmmm. My thyroid somehow attacked itself and gave me something called Hashimotos Thyroiditis. Had total thyroidectomy while on mirena. WTF??? It stinks that this thing is affecting so many in so many ways. Hoping to get a silicone test soon. I am highly allergic to silicone in my skin and actually called Bayer to find out if this would be a problem before insertion. Was told by phone Tech, "NO".
