Re: Abandoning Pets: A Form of Violence

Thanks for posting this. A sign that we have become a "throw away" society, pets AND people included. As a dog lover, I saddens me when I hear about people abandoning their pets for ANY reason. If I lost my home I would sleep in my car if my dogs could not come with me, lose my car and they would be with me in a tent. Not enough food they would share mine with me. During a disaster such as hurricane or flood (Katrina et al) if my dogs could not come with me I would stay in the home with them and "ride it out". I would NEVER abandon them to save myself. Maybe it is just me and some people will think me foolish - so be it - but my dogs have given me so much comfort, understanding and companionship that there is nothing on God's green earth that would make me abandon them for any reason. I am with them ALL THE WAY and there is no compromise.
