Re: Equivocal20's Paper

Last night I taped the folded kleenex on lower lip (just a thin piece at vermillion border). I usually apply a natural moistruzier like shea butter on lower lip to keep saliva off while I sleep. I thought I would try the padding to keep saliva off and prevent my teeth/tongue from touching my lips while I sleep. Well, my lips are the same as they are when I apply shea butter so not applying shea butter did not dry my lips. It is probably the saliva or mouth breathing that dries the lips. I read how a mouth breather got chapped lips, but his chapped lips went away after he started using nose spray at night. I saw a news story on how nose sprays can damage the nose so I try to avoid them.

I never thought I could breathe through my nose at night since my nasal turbinates are swollen inside due to allergies. But the padding helped me to breathe through my nose! Although I could still breathe through my mouth, it was the first time I automatically breathed through my nose at night.
