Although it relates to the feet, I copied this information:

“Corns, otherwise known as foot calluses, are an accumulation of dead skin cells (calluses) around an irritated tissue on the foot. Wearing shoes that fit properly will get rid of corns. If you have a corn between your toes, use a bit of cloth or padding to help keep your toes from rubbing against each other. Pressure is the primary cause of corns. Medicated corn pads can further irritate the skin underneath the corn.”

The lips are always touching each other. So, do you think the lips will heal faster if you tape padding to the upper and lower lip?
