cayenne = paprika?

are these things the same?

I spent the weekend drinking paprika mixed with hot water & today (monday), I had a lot of 'peanut chips' (even bits of wasabi peas) come out.

(not eaten nuts for 6months btw)

Is this all I need to do, or am I drinking the wrong sort of pepper?
