are these things the same?
I spent the weekend drinking paprika mixed with hot water & today (monday), I had a lot of 'peanut chips' (even bits of wasabi peas) come out.
(not eaten nuts for 6months btw)

MoreThis is a reply to # 1,582,364Yes, paprika is a capsicum pepper.
Cayenne (capsicum) actually varies widely in their heat value. For example there is the paprika, which has basically no heat. Then there is cool cayenne running around 30-40 thousand heat units (HU). regular cayenne runs around 80-90 thousand HU and birdseye cayenne around 180,000 HU.
