Re: Has anyone else bothered to check the PubMed link?

I did the same thing you did...

I also ran a few expanded searches...

primarily chromosome or chromosomal changes or damage and then genetic changes or damage and a few key other things like "nitrate toxicity" and such.

I also ran a search on nitrogen containing compounds - pharmacueticals and various common chemicals, especially those used on foods... like atrazine... and many NPNs.

It lead to the following among other things - which was a side search 2 - 3 levels deep...

"Tetracycline Antibiotics are protein synthesis inhibitors, inhibiting the binding of aminoacyl-tRNA to the mRNA-ribosome complex. They do so mainly by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit in the mRNA translation complex."

That from From wikipedia... which led to a whole list of drugs and chemical compounds which also disrupt or inhibit protein synthesis...

And people wonder where new diseases, including virus come from... we have likely created them ourselves.

Interesting to be sure... if nothing else.

Everything we are exposed to... eat, breathe, drink, put on our skin... affects our genes in some way... some things more profoundly than others.
