Has anyone else tried acupressure to stop itching

Off and on for over ten years I have had bouts of crawling, itching under my skin. Antihistamines worked for years to curb symptoms, but recently stopped working. Before a naturopath suggested that I have parasites, I had no idea what was causing it. So in desperation I tried various acupressure points targeted towards the liver and pancreas. In particular, cooling the liver. The itching goes away within the next hour. When all else fails (and just about everything has including zapping, anti-parasitic herbs both internally and topically), I do the acupressure points to alleviate the problem. Problem is that if I have consecutive days of itching, the pressure points become tender and sore and ineffectual as a remedy. I am thinking about going to a acupuncturist next, because I have been doing a parasite cleanse since October, and I see no change at all. In fact, it's gotten worse! I am hoping it's part of the die-off from detoxing. It's very hard to sleep and concentrate.

Anyone else used acupuncture?
