Each is an irregular fragment of existence. A portion of a larger part. A globe is a model of the earth, an approximation, it is not the earth it is a representation of it.

Fractal is taken from the word fractus, meaning broken or uneven. Now imagine the human body fractured into its distinct parts. Now imagine a mushroom also fractured into its distinct parts. Compare the head, the trunk, the ribs. The mushroom is not the same as the body, it has irregular/uneven structure in comparison, just like different parts of a fractal image. This works on a meta-physical level, that is why the word approximately represents the object. When I say apple you probably imagine an apple in your mind, it may be red, yellow or green, but most likely it is an apple. Now you have experienced a fractal image, because the translation to your thoughts was uneven, you do not see the same apple I am talking about... approximate. I hope this helps you to understand.
