Cold/ice pack bad for eyes?

I sleep everynight with an ice pack under my head (the soft, reusable type). I also use an "eye pillow" that I keep in the freezer and put it on my eyes.

My body temperature is low, but my head and neck always feel hot at night, so the cold packs make sleeping much better.

Anyhow, I've been sleeping with the packs on my eyes for longer than I used to. In the past, they would slide off after a pretty short time. Now it stays on for a long time. I've noticed my vision is a little blurry, especially when I first get up after using the pack.

Could the problem be because of just the weight of the pack, or is the extreme coldness of it a problem or a no-no, something I shouldn't be doing?
