Re: Senator McCain Cosponsors Bill That Threatens Access To Supplements (Feb. 2010)

But naproxen is still OTC all over the states, isn't it??

And it isn't like it's any better than the rest of the NSAIDs - paracetamol aka acetaminophen nukes the liver, ibuprofen causes internal bleeding, and aspirin drops clotting the hell down (good for stroke and heart patients, way bad if you're bleeding to death because of it) and eats away at your stomach and causes some horrid stuff with certain asthmatics...

Fact of the matter is, the safest and only non-toxic painkillers are pure opiates (when you OD on paracetamol=acetaminophen, you get irreversible liver damage, while a deadly overdose of morphine will only suppress your breathing ability through effects on neuroreceptors, not by poisoning you, and if you get resuscitated, you'll be at 100% health by morning). If not for that pesky addiction potential...

PS for the idiots who might come to the conclusion that Vicodin is perfectly healthy and safe: it's not. It contains gobs of acetaminophen on top of the opiate.
