 Before I voluntariliy abaconded moderating privilege of a particular forum, I was grateful for having the option to move some blibbering blibcock's crap out of "my" forum on many occasions, to the benefit of the general viewing population, and out of the way of the business at hand

Yes, there is a need to move some stuff out of forums.  For example one frequent poster on these forums posts nothing but attacks and lies in 99% of his posts.  On the other hand there is constructive debate and destructive debate.  Forums should be for the open discussion of ideas.  If they want to only present one sided and limited information to fit their beliefs then they should have a blog, not a forum.

If they want to keep things under control all the moderators should allow alternative views to be posted in a constructive manner, and nip destructive debate, such as name calling, in the bud.
