What is support in these forums?

This was posted in the cancer boards and of course they moved the whole thread to the debate forums where it will be less seen. So I want people's opinions on this post and my response below. Is support allowing misinformation that has been proven wrong and how does it affect the credibility of alternative medicines?

Bear in mind that this is a crossed posted article and appears in the liver-flush support forum and quite clearly crosses the line.

If you want to continue the debate please start a new thread in the liver-flush debate forum.

This is an excerpt from the rules:

Debates and Arguments

There is one main rule on Support Forums on CureZone:

Debates and Arguments are not allowed, cause they tend to disrupt supportive atmosphere, and tend to destroy forum.

We have debates forums where debaters are welcomed!

It still amazes me at how people keep redefining the term "support" to fit their needs. Since when does support mean ONLY allowing misinformation that has already been PROVEN wrong?

If there was a eating sugar support forum and someone falsely claimed on it that eating a pound of sugar a day would cure someone's diabetes would it be support to say go ahead and do it even though I KNOW it is wrong? Or is support warning the person that this is not only false, but dangerous?

Again too many boards are redefining "support" to fit their own beliefs even if those beliefs are proven wrong. And it is this kind of promotion and censorship that is keeping alternative medicines in the shadows. When people make bogus claims about alternative medicines these claims become a target. Anyone opposing those claims though gets banned from the forum and their threads hidden or moved to the Debate Forums where they will hardly be seen. So more people end up reading the misinformation and repeating it and mainstream medicine targets those false claims as evidence that alternatives are quackery when in fact there is a lot in the alternative field that has been scientifically proven to work, such as ozone therapy, herbal therapy, etc.

You may think that all this censorship is helpful but all it does is gives mainstream medicine more ammunition to try and discredit alternative medicines.

So what is your goal? To keep alternative medicines in the dark ages by allowing misinformation to be posted as the truth? Or to allow the presentation of facts and evidence to give alternatives credibility and to allow it to move forward and become more accepted even among conventional practitioners?
