I don't know if you eat a lot of processed foods, but that could aggravate you problems. Even if you fast a long time and your problems do go away, once you start eating processed foods they will come back.
I would start a natural plant based diet after you fast and avoid processed foods as much as possible. If you don't want to do a Water Fast you could try a green smoothie "fast" where you drink nothing but green smoothies or alternate back and forth.
