Traditionally, Yarrow has been used to treat a number of medical conditions. It was used to help stop
minor bleeding and to treat wounds, to treat inflammation in a number of conditions, fight fevers, treat
gastrointestinal conditions, lessen heavy menstrual bleeding, and improve circulation. Some of the
compounds found in Yarrow that may explain its medicinal benefits are apigenin, luteolin, centaureidin,

A group of researchers from India published a study in September 2008 reporting on the anti-helminthic
(intestinal worm anti-parasitic) activity of Yarrow. The in vitro study revealed a very significant effectkilling
94.4% of intestinal worms. The in vivo (sheep) portion of the study reported an 88.4% reduction
in nematode egg count. The results from this study appear to support reports from
physicians regarding the beneficial effects of Mora in the treatment of parasites such as
Babesia that are commonly found in patients suffering from Lyme disease (Borreliosis).
