dear waitn, i'm SO sorry for your suffering! no woman should ever have to go through the awful pain of one of these cysts or the BARBARIC lancings, i wish i could have saved so many woman from this, but like my fellow sisters i am mostly in the dark...
i don't know what causes them but i did read (this is just what i read, it could be wrong) that there MIGHT be a connection for SOME women - and nobody is judging, at ALL - that engaging in intercourse might be connected to these because (it's suggested) the cysts are from the glands down there that supply lubrication when your body anticipates intimacy are vulnerable to getting clogged ...and also the act of said intimacy can be irritating to that gland area...
but nobody can be expected to stop being intimate, so there is a frustrating lack of course of action for this affliction and it's not fair :(

i don't know it's within reach but i found a brief, vague mention on a medical journal website that mentions a procedure using a CO2 laser that claims to offer "long term" relief ...maybe we (sufferers) can ask our doctors about this and find someone who offers it and can bring help to women!
