i think we've reached the technology limits in films.

Films for the last 15 years or so have driven me away more and more because of their dependence on extravagant special effects. Technology was overtaking good story-telling and acting. Avatar hits the zenith where the story ultimately takes a backseat to the marvel that is special effects. And in the end...will be just another movie that we watched. Nothing really solid to hang your hat on at the end of the day other than damn impressive technology. Technology bores me, don't know about you. X-Men, Iron Man, STar Trek, Harry Pottery, on and on and on...there's nothing lasting in these money-makers but the technology. Give me a "Home Alone" or a "Goodfellas" any day over these behemmoths. I'll watch "Casino" over "Watchmen" any time, any day.
