It was only a "good" sign based on them wanting to use radioactive iodine to treat the nodule.

The fact that the normal tissue did not take up any iodine, or very little, may be indicative of other halides binding the recptor sites of the normal tissue.

If she wants to avoid surgery or radiation, then she should consider the urinary halide pre- and post-testing - http://www.vrp.com/ProductPage.aspx?ProdID=9137&zType=1.
It will determine if there is an imbalance in tissue binding. The McCombs Plan can help in many ways overall and may have a specific effect on the tissues.
