Re: *IMPORTANT* Armour Thyroid information
Check and see what is mixed in with your desiccated thyroid. You may have a problem with the filler. The folks who've gone to compounded (way more expensive than Erfa Thyroid from Canada btw see:
http://www.universaldrugstore.com/medications/thyroid),
find that using acidophilus as a filler is better.
In you post you said: " feel like death warmed over, but my doctor said those results are normal and they won't be adjusting my medicines. I'm allergic to some of the ingredients in Synthroid, so I'm not sure what I can do now....."
It would help if you..
1. Get the filler in your compounded thyroid changed to acidopholius and see it that helps.
2. FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR!!! This one is an idiot. Your TSH should be way more suppressed than it is right now if you were optimized on your meds. You are not on enough, probably.
3. Go to
http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/recommended-labwork/
and get ALL the recommended labwork done.
a) Free T3 and Free T4
b) RT3
c) Anti-tpo AgTb (antibodies for hashimotos)
d) ferritin - level needs to be around 70-90
e) b12 - levels should be above 800
f) vitamin D (25 hydroxy) should be above 60
4. Do the self-discovery tests for adrenal fatigue:
http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/adrenal-info/
If any of them come back positive, then get a 24hr saliva cortisol test done to determine the severity of adrenal fatigue. This needs to be addressed first and your adrenals adequately supported or you'll never get your thyroid optimized.
5. Add
Iodine (iodoral,
Lugols 25mg-50mg)
http://www.optimox.com/pics/Iodine/opt_Iodoral.htm,
selenium (selenomethionine 200mcg-800mcg) and tyrosine (500-1000mg) to your list of supplements to support your thyroid.
6. Add a b-complex and atp cofactors to support the
Iodine to help it get to the
Iodine receptors in your body.
http://www.optimox.com/pics/ATP_Cofact.htm
Other folks sell iodoral and the atp cofactors on the 'net. Google for best price.
7. Follow the salt loading protocol to help the iodine flush out the stirred up bromides.
http://www.breastcanceralternatives.org/bromidedetoxsymptomsandstrategies.html
8. Add organic virgin coconut oil to your diet.
9. If your vitamin D levels are low, get a vitamin d supplement at least 5,000iu, if really low (below 30) double that or even triple it to 15,000 iu and get your levels up tested again in 3 months, if your levels are below 30, take 50,000iu for a few weeks to get your levels up FAST. Be sure to take a vitamin A supplement at least 10,000iu of the oily kind NOT beta carotene. If your b-12 is low, supplement with a sublingul b12 (methylcobalamin) 1,000-5,000mcg per day, you can break it up to 2 times a day to help your body absorp it. If your ferritin levels are low, supplement with a tummy friendly iron like
http://www.evitamins.com/product.asp?pid=803,
2 tablets twice a day will help get levels up.
10. Research iodine, and treating your hypo symptoms optimally.

The thyroid group maintains a good doc list. If you can't find one there, someone on the group might be able to help you find a better doc. There are now over 5,000 members on Janie's Natural Thyroid group. It is a very helpful and supportive group.
