Re: Aspergers
HOW, you are correct in this assumption. I have Aspergers, (diagnosed as a very young child), and I cannot tolerate any gluten or gluten containing foods.
Sugar is also a big no-no.
Katstump, some of the behaviours you describe are common with Aspergers. If your son does have aspergers, he would seem to fit in the high functioning catagory.
Please feel free to PM me if you would like any information on this, I have studied autism and have worked with parents and children with autism and Aspergers in particular. Although your son is no longer a child, there are a lot of things you can do to help him understand himself. Do as much reading as you can, before you discuss this with your son, as it is important not to label him with a syndrome that he may not have. I have seen many cases where after a child or teenager is given a diagnosis of autism or ADHD, they then use this as an excuse for bad behaviour, or to absolve them of any responsibility they have in how they behave.
Aspergers has been very difficult for me to live with at times, but it has also been a benefit to many aspects of my life, so its not all bad :)
