What is described in your message seems to have been my experience now for over 5 years. Would an NMDA blocker help with this - one like Namenda/Axura or dextromethorphan? I have not been diagnosed with Alzheimers, but have chemical sensitivities where the reactions include some of the same symptoms as some neurological problems. If I can just stay away from the chemical fumes, I mostly do okay, but if I get into the fumes it is bad news. I heard about the Axura being used in Germany for ten years or so and that the FDA has recently approved the same thing in the USA but under the name Namenda - it is all memantine(sp?) I think this medicine is supposed to protect brain/nerve cells from dying. Anyway, there is a study by Dr. Martin Pall on NMDA blockers and MCS in the Townsend Letter withing the last couple of months, and that might me a place to start looking. I would appreciate any other information, help, comments, as I am considering trying the Namenda. I could not use the dextrmethorphan due to its CYP2D6 clearance. I have been doing alternative therapies, and I am doing good when not exposed to the fumes, it is just that those really bad reactions still happen upon exposures.
