Most people are deficient in Se. It could be that higher cholesterol is an indication that the body needed the extra Se to do what it normally wanted to do, perhaps to produce more of various hormones from the cholesterol, which couldn't happen until adequate selenium was given. High cholesterol is neither an indication nor a cause of heart attacks, regardless of the propaganda. The cause of arteriosclerosis is known, and is readily reversible.
Studies that claim Se is somehow bad for a population already generally deficient in it, when it is known that low Se correlates with increased cancer, make me realize that cancers would likely increase in frequency were the advice of some studies heeded.
