Boy howdy, do I hear ya. I was a little luckier. My vet wanted the actual links about Iodine deficiency. I don't know what she did and/or learned from it, but I do know she's not exactly the "favored one" where she works.

Iodine saved my border collie. She had a seizure at least every six weeks before iodine. She had, maybe three, since starting Iodine supping, and the last one? I literally talked her out of it. Yep. I recognized she was going into it, and I talked her out of it. I kept saying, gently, "No, Macy, no." Then I said, "Come, Macy, come." And she fought it. She fought to recognize me, and she struggled, but she shakily got UP and came to me."

Then she followed me around the yard, slowly, until she regained everything.
