Re: pets & marriage

Hi, Roooth! You know, at one time I thought I'd like to get a dog but for years we rented apartments that didn't allow pets. Then we had our daughter and bought our first house when she was 2---and then I had a revelation! Having a dog is like having another child. Dogs have the intelligence of a 3-year old child---so a child that never grows up! Yet both my brothers have dogs---one of them has 3 right now! We also had 2 dogs when I was a kid. After the first one died, we got another. It was easier then---the dog needed to go out, no leash laws, just open the door and let her out. You're right---dogs take a lot of time and energy!

No advice since blues gave you some great info---just an observation. Also, to let you know that you aren't alone in feeling the way you do!
