Hi Srharder,
Ugh. Dry eyes are the WORST! If you continue to get worse you may want to visit dryeyezone.com which is what I used to troll continuously before I found this forum, and definitely see an opthalmologist who knows a little about dry eye. I've been on Restasis for my dry eyes for almost 4 years now for my dry eyes. The eye problems began with the Mircette birth control pill, got much better when I stopped birth control, and got bad again with Mirena. I don't know if I'll ever be off Restasis or able to wear contacts again, but it has helped. If you need eye drops to keep your eyes moist, use something that does not contain preservatives and comes in individual vials (I use Refresh Plus drops). Benzakalonium Chloride (or BAK) is found in a lot of dry eye drops, esp. Visine, and can cause serious damage to the eyes over time. Flax and Fish oil also help. Good luck -- This is all so frustrating!
