Re: Finally starting the IP. Last dosage questions
Hello everyone, Howdy Solmare!
it's finally happening. - I'm starting the IP. I just need to get a few last things together and will be ready to go in a few days. YAY!
Uny or anyone else who can help:
I ordered a lot of tinctures from Uny, some of them on top of what Uny suggested for my special needs. I have all the dosage instructions for the tinctures that Uny suggested for me, but still need instructions for those tinctures that I ordered "on my own":
So here are the tinctures that I don't know the dosages for: .... And: Since I really have a lot of tinctures and am planning on taking all of them during the 30 days, I just wanted to make sure that this is safe. Anything wrong with taking so many tinctures? Without going back and reviewing "in full" your customized IP, I can offer the following...
--Yes, absolutely, there can be something wrong with taking so many tinctures. I'm not sure I'm understanding your reasons for seemingly wanting to "take/try them all"...and it's those "reasons" that should be your guide. Knowing the action of each herb & what it does, and then comparing it to what your body needs is how you determine what tincture/herb to take...and the dosage depends upon your body.
--Once one has achieved a baseline 'solid status' of health they desire (that 'solid status' being natural, and solidly recognized as "their own"...as in "I solidly know what I feel like like when not taking any tinctures", then (after one knows the various actions/benefits of the herb they're wanting to try), that is the logical time to start experimenting with herbs.
When Rocky53 & I started on our healing pathway, we fully researched our symptoms/herbs and used only the herbs we needed to assist our body in restoring itself (along with the basic cleansing, of course).
--When taking multiple "IP size" quantities of tincture, the alcohol content IS an issue...therefore I always put my 'next doses' in a glass and splash them with boiling water (to evaporate the alcohol). That way, they'll be cooled when I'm ready to take my next dose/s.
Dosages (example): When I originally started taking Cayenne tincture, I took 2 droppersful...and I experienced a slight face-flushing (sometimes), and if I was "still & listening", I could feel the circulation opening/flowing (it seems to "melt warmly" from my head, to neck/shoulders and then down to my arms/extremities). Early on, we could feel it moving to our hands & feet. BUT a friend of mine (that weighs LESS than me) takes 2 droppersful of the same tincture, she doesn't sense any of that...nor did she with another 2 droppersful. But when she took another 2 droppersful, she felt what I felt. Point? To achieve the same "effect", a dose for her is 6 droppersful, but for me it's 2 droppersful. Why?
Because these are NOT unnatural substances that force an action like chemicals do. When dealing with chemicals, "x amount per pound/kg of body weight" is what we're dealing with, because they know (or claim to know) that each chemical has an entirely predictable action that it 'forces', regardless of the state of our "trinity being". But we're dealing with natural substances in a natural body...the action of foods/juices, plants/herbs is indeed dependent upon the state of OUR individual body. Many (many!) times, the amount of an herb needed is totally dependent upon factors that have absolutely nothing to do with 'body weight'. Back to the cayenne tincture example: I have (naturally) never had any type of lack of emotional flow...I still scream, cry, holler, laugh, rage and sob fairly freely. I'm "loosey-goosey" in that arena (typically), particularly for a 50 year old "adult". (Of course, we were ALL like that initially, until we were force-trained/conditioned to be "normal" in an abnormal society/world). But my friend's demeanor (and that of her family/career) is MUCH more quiet, reserved and "tight" overall when it comes to emotional "flow". I believe there's a direct correlation between our opposite demeanors and what is a correct dosage for each of us...and of course, there's MANY other variables than just 'emotional demeanor'.
Hence, the dosages on the bottle labels, and those I suggest are always basic guidelines! You, your researched knowledge, your responses, and your doctor within are the ones that should do the deciding. Everyone on this forum (certainly not just you, Solmare) will be hearing this over & over & over & over & over again. Taking responsibility for our own health and being our own doctor is not "ceasing to give control to allopathic/alternative practitioners", and then giving control to "Unyquity" or any other person (or group of people) on the 'net or otherwise...it's about being our OWN doctor, and all that implies. 'No doubt about it, getting information/input from others IS important, but we MUST hold ourselves to the same accountability that we would hold another practitioner "practicing" on us, when being our own doctor.
Although I have NEVER taken just one author's/healer's words to be the truth (without verifying them with at least THREE other sources), I find this site/author to be very accurate/informative: http://www.healthy.net/scr/article.asp?ID=1169 (that link is directly to the herb Ginkgo Biloba). Just put the name of the herb into the search box in the upper left, and read the information by David Hoffman for an overview of each.
Beside each, I've listed where you'll find good information about these herbs/formulas. The link to Tom H's site: http://healingtools.tripod.com/DS_pages.html

- Hawthorn Berry Tincture Dr. Christopher's CD, Tom H's site, SYL manual (super information from David Hoffman!)
- St. John's Wort Tincture David Hoffman's site (and Dr. Christopher's CD). This herb is NOT just for "mood" or depression (fantastic for that), but it's also a very effective anti-viral/microbial, and great for wound healing (amongst other things, like relieving pain)

- Eyebright Formula Tincture Dr. Christopher's CD, Dr. Schulzes website, SYL manual
- Poke Root/Blue Flag Root Tincture: Dr. Christopher's CD for individual herb info on these two, as well as David Hoffman's site.
I recall suggesting this combo to you for thyroid issues in case you have any remaining after detoxing from the fluoride and replenishing your body with iodine and other thyroid nutrients with the Kelp Combination. How this works for the thyroid? :::sigh::: I really have never been able to find any type of "scientific explanation" that comes close to satisfying me. What I have found, is a lot of reports that it works! And here's one of them: http://www.blueboyherbs.com/poke_root.htm (this links to Poke Root, be sure to read the link on Blue Flag)
Also, do some Google searching on either herb (and add the word "thyroid" or not) - you'll find a lot of good information.
I'm really excited to be starting soon. I'm really excited, too! (more than you likely can imagine).
Thank you for helping. You're more than welcome
Healthy greetings, HEAL ON! Unyquity
