I'm similar, but in a much more extreme case than you.
I used to get fatigue and dizziness, particularly when waking up in the morning. I found that the high fat/protein works, but only if it is not sourced from fatty meats. Try lean meats, milk and ice cream, peanuts.
If you have a high metabolism you should digest carbs easily, but they won't necessarily help your symptoms. You should do some experimentation to see what type of carbs you can handle.
