Re: I have a huge head cold and I can't think clearly.....
Hey Mama :-)
TCM???
Traditional Chinese Medicine.
In TCM, they look at paired organs - Yin/Yang etc.
Yin organs are always working (produce, regulate, store, transform) - like us women hehe! - liver, heart, lungs, spleen, kidneys - Note, these organs are always doing something, even when we are rested or fasting.
Yang organs (mainly used for digestion and transmitting nutrients around the body) - small and large intestines, stomach, gallbladder, bladder - not always active.
A yin organ is paired with a yang organ.
E.g - Lungs and colon, gallbladder and liver, spleen and stomach
Each pair is assigned an element - such as Earth - spleen and stomach.
Each element is assigned a taste, e.g Earth - Spleen/Stomach = Sweet
Elements are also assigned emotional states etc. etc.
So the whole view of TCM is very holistic in nature and the use of herbal remedies is also looked at not just nutritionally, but from a view of what work needs to be done (Mind/Body/Spirit)
For example, I note that Hv often recommends Schizandra berries. It is a wonderful all round herbal. It covers ALL the 5 tastes, therefore works on all the different parts of the body. It is also said to quiet the spirit and calm the heart - so you often find this berry as part of a wide mix of adoptogenic formulas. I use it in medicinal soups and add it to raw smoothies.
TCM is a little complicated to explain unless you have studied the 5 elements, and how they interact with each other. Some are supportive, some are antagonistic etc.
However, getting to the point of movement, there are natural pathways that can be easily tracked when looking at how things move.
Is this a two lane pathway or one way? Please explain more??
Not sure I understand this. You mean, if your head is stuffed you began to do things back down the path in that order? Please explain more .... interesting!
It is one way. For example - you can not get a cold if you have a completely clean bowel.
1. If the bowels are completely clean and nourished (with good bacteria) you can not have lung congestion.
2. If the bowels and lungs are completely clear, you will not have skin problems.
If some or all of the bowels, lungs and skin are blocked - this moves toxic waste towards the head - sinus, brain fog, confusion etc ... colds and flu ...
From a genetic point of view, some people never get skin problems - so it moves from bowels to lungs to head.
Attention deficit is often part of this pathway. I've seen parents who had bowel issues (crohns, colitis etc.) give birth to kids who have either asthma (lungs) or eczema (skin) - that's why it's so common for kids to experience these. Then I've seen parents who had eczema and asthma as kids and then give birth to kids who are easily prone to ADD or depression (head) .... so there is a pathway from generation to generation.
Did I make sense? :-)
