I can absolutely relate. I am post removal for a month and a half. There have been 2 days--back to back--that I was actually feeling normal. Since my first period and after, I am back to square one. I again have the heartburn, abdominal, and below the breastbone, swelling. I do look 6 months pregnant again. The scariest is the racing/pounding heart rate and the anxiety that accompanies it. I often lie in bed and just listen to my heart pounding away. My body seems to have pulses with the heartrate as well. I am wondering if this will ever go away. I also have pain in my wrists and the side of my tailbone--really weird! It is frightening that something can cause so much damage. I am just wondering if it will eventually subside. I can't imagine feeling like this for the rest of my life. All these symptoms are wearing. You are not alone! I am not happy knowing that others are going through this hell, but I am glad to know that I am not going crazy and these symptoms are real. Let me know, or anyone else reading this and are status post removal if these symptoms go away and if so, how long did it take?
I am relieved that there is a support group for the side effects of the Mirena. It has to be a matter of time when this thing will be pulled off the market. I know that when I finally get back to feeling normal, I will do something about all of this. Anything to keep others from going through this. Hang in there, again you are not alone.
