Re: How can I use shelled hemp seeds?

Hi there!

Look for "Dehulled, raw, organic hemp seeds" and you will find plenty of internet suppliers (also check Ebay) - and you should find them in health food shops too. I personally use the Nutiva brand, but any brand should be good. Once you open the packet, make sure you store in the fridge.

1. They taste GREAT!

2. You can add them sprinkled on salads or added/blended into any type of shake/smoothie. For best nutritional uptake, do not heat or add to hot foods. I sometimes make a hemp pesto - I blend hemp seeds with basil, spinach, rocket, garlic + a little olive oil and lemon juice and then use that as a topping for salads or crackers.

3. I don't have sugar cravings, but since hemp is high in protein, good fats, fibre and nutrients, you should find it does help to satisfy any type of food craving. Of course, if the cravings are from unresolved emotional issues, then no food can deal with that ... so address what a sweet craving might be a replacement for.

4. As a snack, I sometimes carry an equal mix of raw hemp seeds and bee pollen - absolutely delicious and gives sustained energy.

Enjoy!

Best wishes

Maya
