Plaque vs. Ropes is there a difference?

Hi guys/girls
After reading some of these posts I wondered if they are the same or different things. I have had ropage but also saw today like (omg here we go) spotting of white-ish throughout. Not like rice grains or threads or cotton ball-ish stuff and not really like egg shells but if pressed i'd say closer to shells but with smooth edges not sharp like an egg shell would have.

I haven't done the collander thing just a little poking and separating...(god) and if you tell anyone....i'll lie....(lol)
