Re: Scary symptoms...looking for answers.

Oh my goodness. The midnight anxiety and shooting out of bed with your heart racing is precisely what I am going through. I have had my Mirena removed now for 3 1/2 months but this persists. The good news : instead of every night it only happens a couple nights coinciding with my cycle these days. For me it is also accompanied by awful GI symptoms. This was happening almost every night for the longest time with the Mirena in, AND I was getting night sweats at the same time. I would wake up and it was like my body was telling me that I was running from a lion or something. At the time I attributed it to stress but now I know better. I had a urine/saliva hormone/neurotransmitter test done a couple of weeks ago and my cortisol is through the roof along with my estrogen and progesterone production being way down (I am only 28 years old) These symptoms are the worst when my hormone levels dip during the natural ebb and flow of my cycle. Usually through my period and the first week after. Your post speaks to me because last night was the worst one of these spells that I have had in awhile, after which I spent all morning in the bathroom, and I really felt like I was crashing! Hang in there!
